How Often Should You Get Your Windows Cleaned?

Most people ask us this before they book their first clean, and the honest answer is that it depends on where you live more than most people expect. Belfast's weather does a lot of the work for us. Frequent rain keeps dust from building up the way it would in a drier climate, but it also leaves mineral deposits and grime streaks that only get worse the longer they sit.

The 4-weekly default

Our standard round runs every 4 weeks, and for most homes across Greater Belfast that is the sweet spot. Glass stays consistently clear, frames and sills do not get a chance to build up algae or grime, and because the crew is already working a set route through your postcode district each month, there is no premium for the shorter cycle.

Properties near main roads, close to the coast, or under trees tend to need the shorter cycle the most. Road grime, salt spray, and sap or pollen all accelerate how quickly a window goes from clear to cloudy.

When 8-weekly makes sense

An 8-weekly round works well for properties that are more sheltered, set back from the road, or simply less exposed to the elements. It is also a reasonable choice if a slightly less frequent visit suits your budget better and your windows do not visibly suffer for the extra month between cleans.

The tradeoff is that longer gaps give hard water marks and general grime more time to set in, so an 8-weekly clean sometimes takes a little more work to bring the glass back to a proper shine. We price that into the cadence uplift so there are no surprises.

You can change your mind

Cadence is not locked in. If you start on 8-weekly and find your windows are looking tired before the next visit, switch to 4-weekly from your account at any time. The same applies in reverse. There is no penalty either way, and the change takes effect from your next scheduled visit.

If you are not sure which to pick, start with 4-weekly. It is the easier one to get right, and you can always stretch the gap out later once you know how your windows actually behave through a Belfast winter and summer.
